This group has been going for three years with an average membership of 4

The usual format of a two hour meeting is for each member to read out their assignment, from a suggestion made at the meeting before. These are discussed, criticised and sometimes praised by the other members. The purpose is to tackle the various modes of writing to make up the general heading of creative writing:

  • dialogue
  • narrative
  • plot
  • character
  • prose, etc
The novel, short stories, plays, poetry, essays and the article have been and are covered.

The meetings are informal and nothing is ever taken too seriously.  Whether or not members are aiming to have their work published is not a criteria that plays an important role in the group.  The desire to write is all that is needed.

Meetings held:

Once a month in the afternoon

Venue:

In each member's home
